—–Suspect arrested during ember border security patrol

A 19 year old notorious cross border robbery suspect, Oyediran Ayomide, has been arrested by the personnel of the Ondo state security outfit codenamed Amotekun.
Ayomide was arrested during the ongoing Ember border security patrol tagged Operation Le Won Jade.
He reportedly committed the offence in Omu-aran, Kwara state but arrested in Ajue, near Ore, in Odigbo council area of Ondo state.
Vanguard gathered that the suspect was arrested after he allegedly attacked a commercial motorcycle rider with a sledgehammer and fled with the stolen bike.
In an interview, the suspect admitted to have committed the crime with the intention of using the motorcycle for commercial transportation in Ore.
According to him “I told the Okada rider to take me to Omuaran, a farm settlement when we got there, I pretended to make a phone call to distract him.
” It was in that process that I hit him on the head with a sledgehammer.
” The motorcyclist abandoned his motor bike and ran for his dear life.
Sources said that the suspect was later tracked by the police who arrested him there with the stolen bike before he could flee to other part of the country.
Speaking on the arrest, the spokesperson for the security outfit, Superintendent Jimoh Adeniken, said the suspect has been handed over to the Kwara State Local Government Security Initiative for continued investigation and possible prosecution.
An official of the the Kwara security outfit appreciated the Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for his efforts in strengthening security across the state.
He expressed optimism for deeper collaboration between the two states.
