The Nigerian Literary Society (NLS) and the Port Harcourt Club’s Book Section will present a reading, discussion, and book signing with renowned management turnaround expert Dr. Dakuku Peterside on December 7, 2025, at the Port Harcourt Club.
The event will center on Dr. Peterside’s two recent titles, Beneath The Surface and Leading In The Storm, with moderated conversations led by Alekiri Maureen Amadi-Ejimofor and Awolanye Banigo, respectively.
A statement from Dr. David Chukwueke, Curator of the Nigerian Literary Society, and Chief Henry Okoli, Captain of the Port Harcourt Club Book Section, notes that the gathering offers a rare opportunity to explore the authors’ motivations and to examine crisis leadership skills crucial for navigating today’s complex and uncertain environment.
Since their launches in Abuja and Lagos, the books have earned praise from international scholars, including professors from Harvard Business School and Kellogg School of Management, as well as governors, diplomats, business leaders, and academics. The recognition underscores Dr. Peterside’s influence as a global thought leader in leadership, management, and governance.
Following his tenure as Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Peterside has extended his reach globally, delivering keynote addresses around the world and serving as a fellow at the African University of Science and Technology, Abuja, in the Centre of Pan-African Studies. His university work spotlights leadership legacy, the nexus of business and policy, and crisis management in both corporate and public sectors.
The event is designed to deepen public engagement with Dr. Peterside’s transformative ideas and to inspire leadership across Nigeria’s socio-political landscape.
