The Daramola family of Bolorunpelu Onigbedu Village in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, has refuted allegations circulating in the media regarding a land transaction involving a private real estate party.
In a statement issued to journalists, the family described the reports as inaccurate and misleading, noting that they do not reflect the true nature of the transaction.
According to the family, the publication alleged that the Daramola family altered the coordinates of a parcel of land previously sold, including executing a Deed of Rectification without the knowledge or consent of the buyer.
Responding to the claims, the family spokesperson, Alfa Falilu Daramola, explained that the assertions do not represent the factual position of the transaction. He maintained that the boundaries of the land in question remain clearly documented within the family’s official records.
“The family has always conducted its land transactions with full transparency and continues to uphold due process,” the statement said.
The family also noted that, in efforts to prevent boundary misunderstandings, it had written multiple letters to relevant government agencies — including the Lagos State Land Bureau, the Office of the Attorney General, and the Registrar of Titles — seeking clarification of survey details.
It further disclosed that while attempts were made to resolve the concerns amicably, the matter was eventually taken before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In a letter dated October 30, 2025, sent to the EFCC through their legal representatives, Dominance Legal Chambers, the family requested that the issue be handled strictly as a civil land dispute.
“We have full confidence in the EFCC’s ability to ensure fairness and transparency in the handling of this matter,” the family stated.
They also called on the Lagos State Ministry of Lands and the Office of the Attorney General to carry out a thorough review to ensure clarity, fairness, and adherence to due process.
Reaffirming their readiness to cooperate with all lawful investigations, the family emphasized that any land validly acquired by any party remains intact, fenced, and free from interference.
“We respect the rule of law and remain committed to resolving all issues through appropriate legal channels,” the statement added.
The family confirmed that their legal team has initiated court action regarding the dispute and expressed optimism that justice will prevail.
