The Towulade of Owu Akinale, Oba Oluseyi Adediran, has congratulated the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, on the celebration of his 20th coronation anniversary.
In a personally signed message, Oba Adediran reflected on his longstanding relationship with the Alake, recalling his role two decades ago as President of the National Amalgamation of Lisabi Students and Youth Movement.
He noted that, at the time, he was invited to the Alake’s palace by General Muhammad Buba Marwa now Chairman of the NDLEA to contribute to youth initiatives across Egbaland.
“Twenty years ago, I served Alake and Egbaland through youth leadership. Today, twenty years after, I am privileged to sit on the throne as the king of Owu Akinale. People should understand that leadership is about service, not day-dreaming,” he said.
Oba Adediran praised Oba Gbadebo as a revered royal father whose two decades on the throne have brought unity, progress, and development to Egbaland. He commended the Alake’s leadership style, characterized by wisdom, humility, and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of his people.
According to the Towulade, Oba Gbadebo’s reign has strengthened peaceful coexistence among communities, fostered socioeconomic growth, and advanced cultural preservation efforts that continue to uphold the identity and pride of the Egba people.
He further lauded the Alake for his fatherly guidance and consistent support for traditional institutions, noting that his influence has contributed significantly to stability and harmonious governance across Egbaland.
“I pray for continued strength, divine wisdom, and many more impactful years on the throne for the Paramount Ruler as he continues to steer the affairs of Egbaland with dignity and grace,” Oba Adediran added.
