Stakeholders, clerics and Christian groups have called for moral rebirth and God-centred leadership in Nigeria.
They made the call at Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State when they gathered for the official launch of ‘The Church and the Nations’, a new book by Pastor Uche Collins Ijeomah.
The event, chaired by the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Ndokwa, Rt. Rev. Festus Uzorka Nwafili, attracted key personalities.
Leading the call, Rt. Rev. Festus Uzorka Nwafili, represented by the Ndokwa East CAN Chairman, Ven. Dr. Samuel Nwafili, said the book launch was timely at a moment when Nigeria is “bleeding from political interests mixed with religious manipulation.”
He lamented the declining moral influence of the Church, insisting that many of the nation’s crises stem from a departure from God-centred leadership.
“Nigeria is in pain because the mind of God is poorly represented by those who lead. If the Church plays its expected role, our nation will be peaceful,” he said.
Thr book author, Pastor Uche Ijeomah described the event as the fulfilment of a 19-year journey of “work, faith and persistence.”
He thanked his family and supporters, acknowledging former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as a “destiny helper.”
He said the book was written to re-engineer mindsets and provide a blueprint for national transformation.
According to him, the world’s systems have failed to deliver lasting peace, saying that the Church holds divine answers for national and global challenges.
“This is more than a book launch — it is the unveiling of a revolution,” he declared.
In his remarks, the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, represented at the event by Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ogelenya Patrick, commended Ijeomah urged religious and political leaders to embrace the book’s message, describing it as a timely contribution to nation-building.

One of the key facilitators of the event, Hon. Chief Emmanuel Onyeuku, described the book as a masterpiece that blends divine wisdom with practical realities.
He said the author’s commitment over 19 years reflects a passion for national transformation.
The member representing Ndokwa East at the Delta State House of Assembly Hon. Emeka Osamuta praised the author’s research and theological insight, stating that the book could inspire reforms both within the Church and across political institutions.
