Enugu will play host to a major developmental initiative as plans for the proposed Agbaja Centre of Excellence (ACE) are formally unveiled at the opening of the Agbaja Summit 2025.
The summit, which begins with a colloquium at the Amadeo Event Centre, Ebeano Tunnel Road, will focus on the theme “Education and Skill Acquisition.” Former Governor Sullivan Chime is expected to chair the session, while the keynote address will be delivered by Monsignor Obiora Ike.
A statement by Prof. Chike Anibeze, Chairman of the Planning Committee said the Agbaja Centre of Excellence is envisioned as the administrative and developmental headquarters of the Agbaja people of Enugu State. According to him, the building will serve as a meeting and conference centre as well as a hub for education, skills training, and knowledge exchange.
The Centre will also house the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme and provide a venue for meetings and activities involving Agbaja people both at home and in the Diaspora.
The proposed structure is a two-storey complex comprising a convention arena, large and medium event halls, multiple office spaces, and computer hubs
The Centre will be sited in the 9th Mile axis due to its accessibility and central location within Agbajaland.
Community leaders report growing excitement among Agbaja indigenes, their in-laws, friends and partners, who have expressed readiness to support the initiative. Details of the financing model for the project have been prepared and are expected to form part of the presentations during the summit.
Agbaja Summit 2025 runs from November 26 to 27 and is expected to attract participants from across Nigeria and beyond.
