The Institute for Humanitarian Studies and Social Development (IHSD) has inducted Melvin Ponsak Daji as a Special Humanitarian Ambassador in recognition of his outstanding contributions to community service and social development.

The induction took place during the 15th Annual Humanitarian Public Lecture and Pan-African Humanitarian Leadership Award Ceremony, held at the Abuja Continental Hotel. The event celebrated individuals and institutions driving humanitarian excellence and leadership across Africa.

In his remarks, Daji described the honor as “a renewed call to service and a deeper commitment to making lasting social impact through humanitarian leadership.”

The ceremony also featured the unveiling of the Pan-African Humanitarian Resource Centre, the graduation of professional humanitarians, and the induction of new fellows, reflecting IHSD’s continued efforts to strengthen humanitarian education and capacity building on the continent.

The event was chaired by former Kaduna State Governor, Dr. Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, and attended by humanitarian leaders and development advocates from across Africa and beyond.

IHSD’s partnerships with organizations such as the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), CIFAL Nigeria, and AREF further underscored its commitment to advancing humanitarian leadership and international collaboration.
