Knowledge key to protecting clients in property transactions – Realtor

A certified Realtor, Wojuola Samuel, popularly known as “SamTheMan – The Techy Realtor”, has called for greater emphasis on knowledge and continuous training among real estate professionals, noting that such investment is vital in protecting clients from fraud and financial losses.

Samuel, who is the founder of Diversity Nexus Company Ltd, made the call after completing specialized training in real estate law and practice at the Fortreal Real Estate Academy, established by Barr. Raymond Ijeomah (Esq).

According to him, the milestone reinforces the responsibility practitioners carry when guiding clients through property transactions.

“Real estate is not just about properties; it’s about people. And the best way we can serve people is by equipping ourselves with the tools, wisdom, and knowledge to guide them rightly,” he said.

The Realtor lamented that many property seekers and investors often fall prey to fraudulent deals, incomplete documentation, or avoidable disputes due to poor guidance from untrained agents. He noted that this trend highlights the urgent need for professionals to pursue certification in areas such as property law, valuation, market analysis, and ethical practice.

“Knowledge gives Realtors credibility and a competitive edge. A well-trained Realtor not only meets client expectations but exceeds them by offering insights and foresight that untrained practitioners cannot,” he added.

Samuel urged both aspiring and practicing Realtors to commit to self-development through professional courses, mentorship, and industry training. He stressed that with the sector evolving rapidly, only those who stay informed will remain relevant.

He concluded with a charge to stakeholders in the industry to embrace higher standards of practice. “Let us raise the standard of practice in our industry, one Realtor at a time,” he declared.
