Three years after avoiding relegation with SV Hönnepel-Niedermörmter in the Landesliga Niederrhein, veteran German coach, Thomas Geist, has committed himself to scouting and developing players between Africa and Europe.
Geist, now the Strategic Technical Advisor to Nigerian-owned, United Kingdom-based football agency, X-TOUCH Sports, would give advisory support and serve as a bridge for technical exchange between both continents.
The former player, who has spent over 35 years in football and helped develop more than 1,800 players across European clubs and academies, is expected to strengthen the agency’s efforts to connect African talent with European opportunities.
Before now, Geist had played in the youth team of SV Neukirchen, but a sports accident curtailed his active career. Later, he became the club’s youth coach himself.
Speaking on his appointment, Founder of X-TOUCH, OlaOlu Adedayo, said: “Thomas brings the depth of technical expertise and credibility that will accelerate our mission.”
