It was a day of joy and celebration at Locust Army Ministries in Ajah, Lagos, as members and guests came together in music, dance, and heartfelt praise to mark the 60th birthday of the ministry’s founder, Rev. Prof. Chris Christian.
The event also coincided with the Men’s Annual Programme of the headquarters church, amplifying the significance of the occasion.
The atmosphere was filled with warmth as tributes and testimonies poured in, reflecting the tremendous impact of Rev. Chris’s teachings and leadership since founding the ministry in Kano in 1996. Many praised his spiritual depth, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to service, attributes that earned him the title “Shepherd of Mankind” among followers worldwide.
Delivering a sermon to mark the milestone, Rev. Chris testified that God had set him apart from birth for a divine purpose, revealing that he was created as a eunuch—free from worldly distractions—so he could devote his life entirely to God’s mission. He said his calling was focused on bringing people into divine revelation and preparing them for the second coming of Christ.
The celebrant also expounded on the biblical example of the tribe of Judah and Israel’s God-given resilience, using it as a metaphor to remind Christians of their own spiritual empowerment. According to him, just as Israel cannot be defeated, Christians—called by God’s name—should live with boldness and authority in the Spirit.
Born in Anambra State and trained as a physicist at the University of Jos, Rev. Chris began his Christian journey as a freelance preacher and intercessor before receiving a clear divine mandate. Starting with a handful of members in a single room in Kano, he has since grown Locust Army Ministries into a widespread movement across major Nigerian cities and parts of Africa.
Known as an apostolic prophet, teacher, and prolific writer, Rev. Chris has authored over 400 books, with many more in manuscript. His work has earned him numerous awards and recognitions, not just for spiritual leadership but also for his humanitarian outreach through education, business support, and family aid programs.
In his sermon titled “The Characteristics of the Eighth Man,” a continuation of his series The Scroll from the Lion of Judah, he emphasized that spiritual maturity is the true path to God’s presence. Citing Revelation 21:3–4 and 20:11, he urged believers to rise beyond charisma and activate the divine potential within, rather than waiting passively for change.
Dignitaries from various church branches, including Lagos, Abuja, Enugu, Port Harcourt, and international guests, attended the landmark celebration. Speaking after the service, Rev. Chris reflected on his divine assignment to guide humanity toward spiritual immortality. He credited his focus and detachment from worldly desires as key to the growth of the ministry and his vast literary work, reaffirming his commitment to building lives through divine revelation and service.
