The Special Assistant to the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) on Administration, Pastor Oladele Balogun, has urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and speak positively about the nation, despite current economic and security challenges.
Balogun made the call during a press briefing to announce a special prayer session scheduled for Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the RCCG National Headquarters, Ebute-Metta, Lagos, with the theme: “Divine Opportunities.”
Represented by the Assistant Pastor in Charge of Province 1, Pastor Olusegun Macaulay, Balogun—who also oversees RCCG Region 1—emphasized that Nigeria’s problems are not beyond divine intervention and can be overcome through prayer, faith, and positive thinking.
“As citizens and stakeholders in Nigeria, we must discard negative confessions and embrace faith and positive reasoning to drive meaningful change,” he said. “Nigeria, like many nations, is facing difficult times, but these challenges can be overcome through unwavering faith. Yes, our country is in dire straits, but God has reversed worse situations before.”
While acknowledging the efforts of national leadership, he noted that more needs to be done given the size and complexity of the country.
He encouraged Nigerians to trust in God’s ability to bring about transformation: “Nigeria needs divine intervention in her economy to unlock divine possibilities. I implore everyone to have faith in God’s limitless abilities—He can and will reverse what has resisted human efforts.”
The July 6 prayer meeting, to be led by RCCG General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, will focus on economic restoration, national transformation, and divine opportunities. Prayers will also be offered for various economic stakeholders, including entrepreneurs, job seekers, corps members, and professionals across sectors.
