The Nigerian community in New Jersey bore witness to a celebration of love, culture and unity as Christelle, a radiant Haitian bride, said “I do” to her Nigerian groom, Ireke, in a heartwarming wedding ceremony that beautifully bridged two rich heritages.
The solemnization of holy matrimony took place at the historic St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church in New Jersey, where family, friends, and well-wishers gathered to celebrate the sacred union. Chrystelle, glowing with joy, was every bit the picture of happiness as she joined hands with her Abia State-born sweetheart, Ireke, a proud son of the Abiriba Enachioken ancient kingdom.
The ceremony was followed by a fairytale-like reception at the elegant Tide Estate in New Jersey. A truly multicultural affair, the reception was a sensory delight that featured a seamless blend of African and Caribbean culture—vivid colors, intricate fashion, and an abundance of traditional cuisine created an unforgettable experience for guests of all backgrounds.
Anchored by MC Henry Asusu, DJs Ted Bounce and Freshyk brought the dancefloor to life, spinning an energetic mix that had guests dancing well into the evening.
The couple, now Mr. and Mrs. Ireke Ejindu, were surrounded by love and support from both sides of the aisle. The Irekes of Abiriba and their Haitian in-laws expressed deep gratitude for the successful and joyful union. Prominent community figures, including Chief Ejindu Mang and members of the Abiriba community in New Jersey, showed up in full force to honor the special day.
Also in attendance was Mr. Ukaku Uguru, popularly known as Shabaraba, who offered his heartfelt wishes to the newlyweds.
