The digital identity verification landscape in Nigeria has received a boost with the official launch of Identigo, a technology-driven verification application.

The Executive Director of Identigo, Ms Olabusayo Soetan, gave the assurance in a statement in Lagos on Friday.

Soetan said that the app was aimed at rebuilding trust, strengthening security, and aiding decision-making in recruitment and other sensitive processes.

She said that Identigo was unveiled at Lekki, Lagos, in the presence of stakeholders from the public and private sectors.

Soetan said that the platform was developed to address the increasing need for preventive security, particularly in employment and document validation.

“This is not just a product launch; it is a mission to restore confidence in our systems.

“Identigo is designed to deliver reliable background checks that will help individuals, organisations and government agencies to verify the authenticity of identities, certificates, land documents and more.

“Identigo’s operations prioritise preventive security over reactive measures, enabling clients to access credible information to guard against fraud, misjudgments and other risks,” she said.
