…Says Alkali is recovering, no plan to declare him incapacitated

Jalingo – The Taraba State House of Assembly has dismissed rumours suggesting plans to declare Deputy Governor Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Alkali incapacitated or to initiate impeachment proceedings against him.
Addressing journalists in Jalingo, Hon. Nelson Len, Chairman, House Committee on Information and member representing Nguroje Constituency, described the speculation as baseless and misleading, aimed at inciting unnecessary tension in the state.
Alkali, who has been undergoing treatment for an undisclosed illness, briefly returned to the state in May but has since resumed medical care, sparking concerns over his prolonged absence from public functions.
Hon. Len, however, clarified that there are no discussions within the Assembly about removing the deputy governor.
“Yes, the deputy governor has been ill for some time now, but that is part of being human,” Len stated.
“He is not incapacitated, and there is no need for any replacement. He is only absent due to ill health, which can happen to anyone. The deputy governor is recuperating well, and there is no proposal or motion for his removal being discussed.”
He urged members of the public to disregard the false narrative and rely solely on credible and official sources for information concerning the state government.
The Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the executive in delivering good governance and maintaining political stability in Taraba State.
