Youths across Nigeria gather as PFN Youth Wing inaugurates new leadership and unveils a national agenda to mobilize and empower Christian youths.

In a landmark gathering themed “Unity, Purpose, Power,” the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) officially inaugurated its 6th Youth Wing executive leadership in Lagos on 10th of June. Anchored in worship and the word, the event marked the commissioning of the next generation of Pentecostal leaders, carrying a bold vision to mobilize Christian youth across the nation.

The gathering, which was streamed live on YouTube, opened with prayer by Reverend Edward Olumese of North-Light Ministries, followed by a powerful intercession for unity led by Pastor Philip Olubakin of Supernatural Life Church. Their contributions set the tone for a spiritually charged ceremony that drew support from across Nigeria’s Pentecostal landscape.

Unity emerged as a dominant theme throughout the day. Apostle Femi Lazarus of Light Nation Church declared, “In the Old Testament, every prophecy that spoke about the end-time church made reference to the church as an army. So it is: unite or fade out.” He emphasized that unity is not only good but “capital”—a multiplier of impact. Pastor Karis AmehWealth of Gloryzone Church Jos, echoed this emphasis on unity by highlighting the resilience of churches in Northern Nigeria, where shared adversity has produced uncommon solidarity: “No breaking of ranks. No different agenda. One purpose.”

The symposium also reaffirmed the centrality of the supernatural in Pentecostal identity. Apostle Emmanuel Iren, Apostle Femi Lazarus, and Pastor Karis AmehWealth each spoke passionately on the need to preserve Pentecostal distinctives in a changing world. “Behind the speed of the spread of the gospel in the early church was this Pentecostal empowerment,” Pastor Karis noted, warning against the temptation to tone down spiritual expression for media approval. Apostle Femi reinforced this truth: “To do church the Bible way is to do church the supernatural way.”

With over 70% of Nigeria’s population under 35, speakers stressed the strategic priority of youth ministry. Pastor Yemi Davids, Chairman of the PFN Lagos State Chapter and Lead Pastor of Global Impact Church, emphasized the importance of working as one Body, noting that the hands are not greater than the heart simply because they are more visible. He honoured the foundational work of the previous generation and charged this generation to build upon it, develop it, and finish well.

The highlight of the day was the formal investiture of Apostle Emmanuel Iren as President of the PFN Youth Wing, conducted by Bishop David Bakare—National Secretary of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and Presiding Bishop of Jesus Is Life World Outreach Ministries—on behalf of PFN National President, Bishop Francis Wale Oke. The new executive team was also installed, marked by the ceremonial presentation of the PFN flag and a charge to lead with spiritual fervour and strategic clarity.

Pastor Poju Oyemade, Senior Pastor of Covenant Christian Centre and former President of the PFN Youth Wing, offered a powerful blessing and prayer over the newly installed Youth Wing executives—calling for divine wisdom, unity, and God’s empowerment as they embark on their national mandate.

The event attracted a broad spectrum of spiritual leaders, including PFN Executive Council members such as Pastor Daniel Olawande of RCCG The Envoys, Pastor Shola Okodugha of The New, Pastor Oge Ogwe of Circle Church, Pastor Sam Obiorah of City of Transformation Church, Pastor Ohis Ojeikere (The Winlos) of The Votage Church, and PFN national and regional leaders, along with youth representatives from across the country—reflecting a unified front and wide support for the Youth Wing’s new direction.

In his inaugural address, Apostle Iren emphasized the heart of scriptural leadership, stating that the PFN Youth Wing will be driven by servant-leadership, not titles or platforms. He went on to unveil a bold blueprint aimed at shaping a purposeful decade of youth engagement and national transformation.

Key initiatives include: a voluntary fellowship partnership program for campus ministries, renewed doctrinal clarity on core Christian beliefs, strategic political engagement for Christian youths, the establishment of a PFN Youth Welfare Fund, and sustained outreach and welfare support for churches in Northern Nigeria.

“The future is not tomorrow; it is the choices we make today,” Apostle Iren declared, challenging the youth to rise with conviction, competence, and Christ-centred purpose.
As the PFN Youth Wing ushers in this new era of leadership, the tone is clear: the next move of God in Nigeria will be marked by unity, doctrinal soundness, and strategic action led by a generation fully yielded to His purpose.
