BENIN CITY – THE indigenes of Ologbo in Ikpoba-Okha local government area of Edo State have appealed to the Oba of Benin, His Majesty Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II for the forgiveness of their suspended enogie (duke), Prince Owen Akenzua
The people made the appeal in a letter of appeal signed by the representative of the elders , Chief Friday Aihanuwa and the representative of the youths , Comrade Osagie Ozigbo and made available to journalists in Benin City yesterday.
They said the community sought for a leaders meeting with the suspended enogie to ask what happened and what led to his suspension and that they discovered that their enogie was misinformed by the previous head of all Enigie
Continuing they said “the authority of the great Oba Ewuare II cannot be questioned but rather to continually appeal as loyal subjects and pray for forgiveness, for the offense of the enogie is the offense of all and sundry in Ologbo because the Oba owns all of them in the dukedom”
They pledged their continuous unalloyed loyalty to the Oba whom they described as god king on earth and prayed for God and ancestors to continue to protect and give him the wisdom to continue to pilot the affairs of the great kingdom.
Meanwhile the people of the community had earlier gathered themselves at the entrance to the palace to appealed to the Benin Monarch to pardon the suspended enogie for any wrong doing that warranted his suspension
