The TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation has praised the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Chief of Air Staff (CAS), and the courageous troops of Operation Hadin Kai for successfully repelling recent terrorist attacks in Buratai and Mallam Fatori, located in Biu and Abadam Local Government Areas of Borno State, respectively.
Special commendation was extended to the 135 Special Forces Battalion in Buratai, whose swift and decisive action played a vital role in protecting the lives of innocent civilians.
In a statement signed by the Foundation’s Chairman, Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani (Sadaukin Garkuwan Keffi/Betara Biu), the Foundation highlighted the achievements of the Nigerian Armed Forces in the ongoing fight against insurgency.
The statement also referenced the Foundation’s Grand Patron, His Excellency Amb. Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai (CFR, Rtd), former Chief of Army Staff, who expressed confidence in the nation’s security outlook under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“I see improved security in the next two years under Tinubu,” Gen. Buratai stated earlier this week, emphasizing that recent operational successes mark a step forward in achieving lasting peace and security in Nigeria.
The attempted attack on Buratai took place in the early hours of Thursday, June 5, 2025, when terrorists attempted to infiltrate the troops’ positions from multiple directions. However, the troops responded with exceptional preparedness and firepower. Close air support from the Air Component was instrumental in effectively repelling the assault.
Following the confrontation, troops recovered numerous bodies of insurgents along with a large cache of weapons and ammunition. Preliminary reports indicate the recovery of several AK-47 rifles, General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMGs), Rocket-Propelled Grenades (RPGs), and other military equipment. Mopping-up operations are ongoing to eliminate any remaining threats in the area.
The Foundation underscored that Operation Hadin Kai’s recent achievements further demonstrate the Armed Forces’ resolve to deny terrorists any freedom of action and to restore peace in the region.
The TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation expressed its profound appreciation to the Nigerian troops for their bravery and dedication, reaffirming its support for the continued fight against terrorism. The Foundation called on all stakeholders to remain united in the collective effort to achieve national peace and security.
