In a continued effort to uplift vulnerable members of society, Dr. Stephen Omobamidele Agbi, Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Mobilization, has empowered over 500 widows and less privileged individuals in Akoko North West Local Government Area with financial support to improve their welfare.
The empowerment programme brought together representatives from all ten wards of the local government area, reflecting a broad grassroots impact.
Dr. Agbi reaffirmed his unwavering support for the administration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the initiative aligns with their shared commitment to social welfare and economic reform.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of Arigidi/Iye Ward 1—Agbi’s political ward—praised his consistent efforts to alleviate poverty and improve livelihoods across the community. He described Agbi as a leader devoted to the welfare of his people.
Also addressing the gathering, Abiola from the Arigidi/Iye/Erusu LCDA commended Dr. Agbi for continually creating opportunities to empower residents and strengthen the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the grassroots level.
Beneficiaries of the initiative, comprising widows and other underprivileged individuals, expressed heartfelt appreciation. Speaking on their behalf, Mrs. Akanni Deborah described the gesture as “unprecedented,” while Mrs. Orimogunje Felicia thanked Dr. Agbi for his generosity and offered prayers for his continued success.
In his remarks, Dr. Agbi pledged to sustain his support for both the APC and his constituents. He reiterated his dedication to leveraging his political office and private resources to combat poverty in Akoko North West.
The event was attended by several notable party leaders, including Hon. Tope Sanya, former Special Assistant to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode; Hon. Ojo Malomo; Hon. Adesuyi Adojutelegan; High Chief Hon. Ojo Abiola, Chairman of Arigidi/Iye/Erusu LCDA; Hon. Awolumate Olumide, Ward 1 Chairman; and Hon. Rafiu Adamu, former Special Assistant, among other elders and political leaders in the area.
