Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has approved the construction of a ring-fenced perimeter and installation of a comprehensive gating system for the Ibara Government Reserved Area (GRA) in Abeokuta.
The move was part of efforts to enhance safety of the residents and aesthetics of the State’s prime residential Estate.
The State Commissioner for Housing, Jamiu Akande Omoniyi, who disclosed this in a statement, noted that the move was a direct response to appeals and growing concerns from residents and subscribers of the Ibara GRA Regeneration Scheme over the porous security situation of the estate.
According to the Commissioner, “the new security infrastructure, which mirrors global best practices found in leading private estates, is designed to improve the overall security architecture of the estate while also enhancing its physical appeal”.
“The fencing and gating system will not only secure the environment, but also boost the image and value of the estate”.
Omoniyi lauded Governor Abiodun for his visionary commitment to housing development, describing the new security approval as another demonstration of the present administration’s commitment to safer and modern urban living.
He reaffirmed the dedication of the ministry to fully implementing the housing agenda of the Governor across the State.
He also disclosed that further stakeholder engagement will be undertaken to incorporate adjoining areas not previously included in the regeneration scheme into the approved security framework, while ensuring a cohesive and inclusive approach to protection and transformation of the regenerated scheme.
