2027: Delta Youth group backs Hon. Mutu, applauds constituency development efforts

…Passes vote of confidence on lawmaker

By Chancel Bomadi Sunday

BOMADI — A youth group, the Bomadi Local Government Area Federated Youth Movement (BOLGAFYM), has thrown its weight behind Hon. Nicholas Ebomo Mutu, lawmaker representing the Patani/Bomadi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The group passed a vote of confidence in Mutu, commending his developmental strides and consistent empowerment initiatives across the constituency.

Following an extensive meeting held in Bomadi, headquarters of the Bomadi LGA, BOLGAFYM noted that the lawmaker had attracted numerous federal road projects to both Patani and Bomadi and had empowered youths and women through various training and support programmes.

In a joint statement signed by its President, Comrade Pigha Bekes, and Secretary, Comrade Lucky Ofrolade, the group described Mutu as a committed leader with a proven track record of constituency development.

“Hon. Nicholas Ebomo Mutu has influenced several development projects in the Patani/Bomadi Federal Constituency. His empowerment programmes, including vocational training and agricultural support, as well as the free medical services offered by the Mutu Healthcare Foundation, have had far-reaching impact,” the group said.

They emphasized that BOLGAFYM’s core objectives include advocating good governance and youth empowerment in Ijaw-dominated areas of Delta State, and Mutu’s achievements align with those goals.

Responding to criticisms about Mutu’s long tenure in the National Assembly, the group said his continued re-election was a reflection of his popularity and performance.

“Claims that Mutu’s long stay in office is a political injustice to Patani are unfounded. He has always won through free and credible elections without violence. As long as the people continue to support him, he reserves the constitutional right to seek re-election,” the group argued.

Dismissing recent social media posts suggesting a political imbalance in the constituency, BOLGAFYM described such views as baseless and politically motivated.

They concluded by urging Hon. Mutu to remain focused and continue delivering impactful projects to his constituents.

“On this note, we reaffirm our unwavering support and pass a vote of confidence in Hon. Nicholas Ebomo Mutu. We urge him to ignore distractions and continue his good work for the people of Patani and Bomadi,” the statement added.
