Amb. Umanu Elijah, a prominent Nigerian leader and humanitarian, has been appointed as the West Africa,ECOWAS, Youth Ambassador.

This prestigious honour  recognizes his exceptional commitment to youth empowerment and regional development.

As part of the good news,  Amb. Umanu Elijah was also decorated with the Nelson Mandela Leadership Award of Excellence and Integrity, recognizing his excellence and integrity in leadership

A nation builder, humanitarian, and rising political voice, Amb. Umanu Elijah has consistently demonstrated an unwavering passion for community development, youth empowerment, and inclusive governance. His newest role as ECOWAS Youth Ambassador positions him to influence policy and initiatives that uplift millions of young people across West Africa.

“This appointment is more than a personal achievement—it is a call to serve, to lead with integrity, and to champion the dreams of millions of young Africans. I accept this responsibility with deep humility and unwavering commitment,” Elijah stated during his acceptance speech.

He further emphasized the urgent need for regional cooperation, innovation, and visionary leadership to address the socio-economic challenges confronting West African youth.

Through his NGO, Tudi Africa, Elijah has led numerous grassroots initiatives focused on education, digital empowerment, and sustainable development—efforts that reflect the transformative vision the ECOWAS Youth Council seeks to promote.

This recognition comes at a critical time when West Africa needs bold, youthful voices to inspire collective action, foster unity, and drive the continent toward a more equitable future.
