Rafael da Silva
Former Manchester United defender, Rafael da Silva has admonished Reuben Amorim to offload Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund and go after Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen this summer.
Hojlund has failed to impress at Old Trafford this season, scoring just four goals in 31 Premier League matches while Osimhen has been in red-hot scoring form as the leading top scorer in the Turkish Super Lig with 25 goals.
Multiple reports have linked Man Utd with potential move for Osimhen who is on loan from Napoli and Rafael has added his support to the reports by confessing his admiration for the 2023 African Footballer of the Year.
“Osimhen, I love him, he’s a very good player. I have to say I prefer him over Hojlund for sure. He’s 100%,” Rafael told RG Media.
“I’m not a fan of Hojlund, I hope he gets better. I don’t know if he will stay at Manchester United or not.
“I would pick Osimhen to play for Manchester, of course, to play as a striker.”
Galatasaray are also looking for ways to keep Osimhen in Istanbul after his outstanding role helped the club secure a domestic double – Turkish Cup and Turkish Super Lig this season.
With a year left on his contract at Napoli, the former Lille and Wolfsburg is also attracting interest from Chelsea and Saudi club Al Ahli.
