The Onishe of Ubulu-Uku, Senior Special Assistant on Youth Mobilisation to the Governor of Delta State High Chief James Endurance Onwordi Ibori has reacted to comments made by Delta North APC chieftain Chief Emma Ejiofor regarding Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Onwordi stated that Governor Oborevwori consulted with national and state stakeholders of the party before defecting, contrary to Ejiofor’s claim that the governor didn’t follow due process.
He emphasized that Ejiofor doesn’t fall into the category of stakeholders who would be consulted on such matters.
According to the Onishe, Ejiofor lacks political value and isn’t a leader in the party, making him irrelevant in decisions regarding the governor’s defection.
He noted that Governor Oborevwori has been accepted by President Bola Tinubu, national leaders, and state leaders of the party, and has been recognized as the leader of the party in Delta State.
The Onishe called on Ejiofor to desist from spreading lies about the governor, highlighting that Oborevwori has made Deltans proud through his governance.
He emphasized that the governor’s decision to join APC is a blessing, given his grassroots appeal and electoral value.
The Onishe further stated that President Tinubu values Governor Oborevwori’s contribution and sees him as crucial to winning Delta State in the 2027 elections.
He added that Ejiofor’s comments suggested he believed he was bigger than President Tinubu, who received Governor Oborevwori into the party.
The Onishe concluded by warning Ejiofor to stop disrespecting constituted authority, noting that Ejiofor’s actions were consistent with his known behavior.
He urged Ejiofor to recognize the governor’s position and the value he brings to the party.
