Meet Joy Raimi, beauty queen to represent Nigeria at 72nd Miss World

Joy Mojisola Raimi has emerged as the newly crowned Miss World Nigeria 2025, triumphing over 36 other contestants to earn the prestigious title.

At just 24 years old, Raimi will be representing Nigeria on the global stage at the 72nd Miss World pageant, scheduled to take place this May in Hyderabad, India.

Originally from Rivers State and representing Osun in the competition, Raimi is no stranger to the world of pageantry.

Her journey to the Miss World platform has been marked by grace, resilience, and hard-earned success. In 2021, she was crowned Miss Port Harcourt City International.

A year later, she made her international debut at the Miss Intercontinental competition in Egypt, where she impressively placed as second runner-up. These experiences sharpened her stage presence and prepared her for the national spotlight.

Raimi’s performance at the Miss World Nigeria finals was nothing short of captivating. Her beauty and elegance were matched by an emotional depth that resonated deeply with both judges and the audience. Her heartfelt storytelling and courage to speak her truth set her apart.

Raised without a mother and subjected to emotional abuse by a caregiver who constantly belittled her, Raimi’s rise to the national crown is a powerful testimony of perseverance.

“Growing up without a mother, I faced harassment and discouragement from the caregiver who raised me. She constantly told me I would never succeed. Yet, here I am, standing on this stage, living my purpose,” she shared during the competition.

Far from allowing her past to define her, Joy Raimi has used her experiences as a catalyst for growth and service. She founded The Love for Humanity Project, a charitable initiative focused on uplifting underprivileged communities. The project provides feeding programs, mental health support, and spontaneous acts of kindness to those in need. Her vision is rooted in empathy, a reflection of the struggles she overcame.

With her crown, her cause, and her courage, Joy Mojisola Raimi is ready to represent Nigeria alongside over 140 contestants from around the world at the Miss World pageant. More than just a beauty queen, she embodies strength, purpose, and compassion—qualities that promise to shine brightly on the international stage.
