Gov. Sanwo-Olu swears in retired Lagos Perm. Sec. as chairman, Service Commission

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has sworn in retired Permanent Secretary Mrs. Boladale Dapo-Thomas as the new Chairman of the Lagos State Civil Service Commission, along with four other members.

The other members sworn in include Mr. Fatai Olalekan Lasisi, Mr. Lateef Yahaya Olawale, Mr. Afolabi Olatunji Sobowale, and Mr. Rufus Adekoya Adedapo.

Mrs. Boladale Dapo-Thomas, a Lagos-born professional, served as Permanent Secretary in the Department of Physical Planning, Wealth Creation, and the Civil Service Commission.

She was appointed to the Lagos State Civil Service as an Administrative Officer II (GL 08) in 1988. Her career is marked by notable achievements in diverse roles, where she consistently delivered excellent service. She began her career as a Protocol Officer and Private Secretary to the wives of four Governors of the State, from 1988 to 1999, coordinating their offices and various programs.

In his official post on Facebook, Babajide Sanwo-Olu acknowledged the wealth of experience Mrs. Dapo-Thomas brings, noting that she will apply her expertise to the commission.

The post read: “Today, I swore in the new members of the Lagos State Civil Service Commission. The civil service is the backbone of government, and when it operates effectively, everything else falls into place. To lead the Commission, I have appointed Mrs. Boladale Dapo-Thomas, a retired Permanent Secretary. She brings years of experience and a deep understanding of what service means. Joining her are Mr. Fatai Olalekan Lasisi, Mr. Lateef Yahaya Olawale, Mr. Afolabi Olatunji Sobowale, and Mr. Rufus Adekoya Adedapo, who will also serve on the Commission. Each member represents one of the five traditional divisions of our State and brings a unique perspective shaped by their respective communities.
