At the recently concluded Annual General Meeting of the Government College Ughelli Old Boys Association (GCUOBA), Lagos Branch, held on Sunday, May 18, 2025, a new Executive Council was elected to steer the Branch forward. Chief Charles Uwensuyi Edosomwan, SAN, emerged as the new President, ushering in a fresh chapter in the Branch’s leadership.
Chief Edosomwan stands as a distinguished Senior Advocate of Nigeria, celebrated for his profound legal acumen and robust academic credentials, which include a Ph.D.
His noteworthy contributions to the legal landscape span a diverse array of specializations, encompassing commercial law, intellectual property, oil and gas law, alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, constitutional law, election petition litigation, admiralty law, and general public law litigation.
In his inaugural speech at the ceremony, Chief Edosomwan expressed profound gratitude to the members of GCUOBA, Lagos Branch, for entrusting him and his executive team with the leadership of the Branch. He emphasized that the new executive would concentrate on serving the association and its members, prioritizing their welfare while fostering collaboration to fulfill the strategic objectives of the Branch.
In a statement signed by Mr. Steve Ighofose, Secretary, GCUOBA, Lagos Branch said that the newly elected Executive Council comprises Engr. Okosubide Mozimo as Vice President; Mr. Stephen Ighofose as Secretary; Mr. Oghenemaro Akpotoboro as Assistant Secretary; Mr. Igho Awhotu as Financial Secretary; Mr. Goodwill Iyamu as Treasurer; and Mr. Lawson Abanum as Publicity Secretary. Additionally, the council includes Pastor Daniel Ekoko (Immediate Past President/Ex-Officio 1), Arc. Paul Karika (Ex-Officio 2), Mr. Mike Madagwa (Ex-Officio 3), and Pastor Egra Akpofure (Ex-Officio 4).
Members of the Branch expressed their satisfaction with the newly elected members of the Executive Council, assuring them of their commitment and support throughout their term.
