Last year’s French Open runner-up Jasmine Paolini advanced to the third round on Wednesday with a 6-3, 6-3 win over world number 71 Ajla Tomljanovic of Australia.
The in-form Paolini extended her winning run to eight matches following her Italian Open triumph in the build-up to Roland Garros.
The fourth seed from Italy will next play Russia’s Anastasia Potapova or Ukraine’s Yuliia Starodubtseva.
