The Nigerian Army has confirmed an explosion that occurred on Monday at a bus stop opposite the Mogadishu Cantonment in Abuja.
In a brief statement posted on its official X handle, the Army assured the public that the situation is under control.
“Explosion at bus stop opposite Mogadishu Cantonment Abuja. Situation under control. Details later,” the statement read.
As of the time of filing this report, the cause of the explosion remained unknown.
The incident took place near one of the capital’s most heavily guarded military facilities, located along a busy route used by civilians and military personnel alike—raising renewed concerns about security around key infrastructure in the Federal Capital Territory.
