Governor Oborevwori of Delta State
A prominent leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State and Nigeria’s former Ambassador to Thailand, Ambassador Oma Djebah, has applauded the historic decision by Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, along with the entire Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) political structure in the state—including his commissioners and executive council members—to formally join the APC.
In a press statement released today, Ambassador Djebah, a two-time Commissioner for Information in Delta State, warmly welcomed Governor Oborevwori into the APC fold. He described the move as a significant political development that confirms Delta State’s alignment with the bold and impactful policies of the APC, as championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to Djebah, Governor Oborevwori’s defection is a bold and courageous step, reflective of his commitment to progressive politics, accelerated development, and the improved welfare of Delta State’s citizens. He noted that this decision would usher in a new era of inclusive governance rooted in unity, strength, and the ideals of the APC.
“As a proud member of the APC and former ambassador with concurrent accreditation to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), I reinforce the position of our party leadership in Delta State: we warmly welcome Governor Oborevwori to the APC family,” Djebah stated.
He expressed optimism that the governor’s entry into the APC would significantly amplify the party’s strength in the state and contribute to the holistic development of Delta in all spheres.
“I believe the future beckons with success as the APC continues to grow in Delta State. More inclusiveness, rooted in peace, unity, and progressive ideals, is the catalyst our society needs for sustainable growth. Governor Oborevwori’s presence in the APC will further enhance the party’s fortunes and strengthen democratic governance in Delta State. I salute his courage,” Djebah added.
Djebah also commended APC leaders and stakeholders in the state for giving Governor Oborevwori a warm and cordial welcome. Reflecting on his earlier working relationship with the governor during his time as Commissioner for Information, Djebah expressed confidence that the governor’s presence would add value to the party and contribute meaningfully to the delivery of democratic dividends.
He concluded: “Governor Oborevwori’s bold foresight in joining the APC opens up Delta State to a wealth of opportunities through alignment with the centre. It is a move that will surely benefit the people of Delta State and accelerate our journey toward comprehensive development.”
