In a rapidly evolving digital landscape, early exposure to technology is no longer optional—it’s foundational. The Easter Kids Coding Fest 2025, organized by Digital Dreams ICT Academy, offered young learners a valuable opportunity to gain practical tech skills in a fun and engaging environment.

The program brought together 456 children aged 6 to 12 for live virtual sessions on Graphic Design, Scratch Programming, and Web Development.

The sessions were facilitated by a team of professional tutors over Zoom, with a strong focus on individualized learning. Each child’s pace and style were considered, and structured assignments were used to reinforce lessons. These assignments were managed through LinkSkool, a Learning Management System (LMS) that enabled effective monitoring of each student’s progress.

To support continuous learning beyond the classroom, Digital Dreams ICT Academy produced over 30 video recaps, now available on the academy’s YouTube channel.

These resources provide ongoing access to the material and allow students to revisit lessons as needed, encouraging independent practice and self-paced learning.

Parents shared enthusiastic feedback about the impact of the program on their children. Mrs. Ukodobi, one of the participating parents, remarked:

“My daughter has been so engaged in the world of tech in the past two weeks and has been creating her own designs, unlocking a passion I didn’t know she had. All thanks to this program. I am eager for its continuation as it is vital for her growth.”

Another parent, Mrs. Ngozi, highlighted the program’s child-friendly approach:

“The tutors were patient, and the content was so age-appropriate. My son looked forward to each session. We’re excited for what comes next.”

Speaking during the closing session, Mr. Chukwudi Edoga, CEO of Digital Dreams ICT Academy, expressed appreciation to the parents for trusting the academy with their children’s learning journey.

As a parent himself, Mr. Edoga emphasized the importance of starting early to equip children with the skills needed to thrive in a digital economy.

“The Easter Kids Coding Fest is not a one-time event—it marks the beginning of a continuous learning journey,” he stated.

To that end, the academy is launching the Kids’ Weekend Code Lab on May 17, 2025. This new initiative will span 18 months, providing consistent weekend sessions that build on the skills introduced during the Fest.

Recognizing that digital education doesn’t end with the child, the academy is also turning its focus toward families. Plans are underway to keep participating parents engaged through a community platform and a series of webinars designed to equip them with the tools to support their children’s digital growth.

“We want to build a community of tech-savvy parents,” Mr. Edoga explained. “A digitally smart parent is important in raising a tech-smart child.”

In addition, the academy is in talks with an NGO partner to launch a special initiative called “Mums Can Code”—a program aimed at empowering mothers with practical digital skills that can help improve their income-earning capacity.

Looking ahead, Mr. Edoga also announced that Digital Dreams will play a key role in organizing the Kids Coding Challenge slated for September 2025. Students who continue with the weekend program will be better positioned to participate and excel in the competition.

The Easter Kids Coding Fest 2025 didn’t just teach children how to code—it unlocked their creativity, fostered innovation, and laid the groundwork for a future where they can thrive in any digital environment. By offering the program free of charge and fully online, they made quality tech education accessible to children across diverse regions, championing inclusivity and opportunity.
