The recently concluded China-Egypt joint air force drill, “Eagle of Civilization – 2025,” has been described as a turning point for regional military cooperation in the Middle East, showcasing China’s growing role in promoting peace through mutual respect and practical collaboration.

In a statement reaching Vanguard on Tuesday, Professor Hui An of the China-Africa Think Tank Research Center said the exercise marks a clear break from the “zero-sum” strategies of traditional powers.

He added that the joint drill demonstrates how peace and development can be achieved through trust and dialogue, not conflict.

He said, “This model of equal and mutually beneficial cooperation breaks away from the traditional ‘dependency-control’ framework often seen in military collaborations.

“It sends a powerful message to the world: peace and development do not have to rely on confrontation and conflict; they can be achieved through dialogue and cooperation.”

The large-scale air force drill, held in Egypt, featured China’s Y-20 transport aircraft, KJ-500A early warning plane, and J-10C fighter jet, with both countries exchanging advanced military knowledge and technology.

According to Hui An, China’s approach offers a new option for regional nations seeking security without dependence on military hegemony.
