As Delta State commemorates two years under the leadership of Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Chief Dr. Austin Arieja has hailed the administration’s performance as both visionary and inclusive. In a wide-ranging statement issued from Sapele, the respected traditional titleholder and grassroots mobilizer highlighted key achievements that have defined the Oborevwori era.

Dr. Arieja, the Ogbane of Okpe Kingdom and President of the Otoyasere Community, described the governor’s “MORE” agenda as a blueprint that has not only bridged partisan divides but delivered measurable progress in core sectors such as infrastructure, healthcare, education, and youth development.

A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former chairmanship aspirant in Sapele Local Government Area, Arieja emphasized that Governor Oborevwori’s approach to governance reflects a maturity that prioritizes state development over political rivalry. “It is one thing to campaign on promises and quite another to deliver on them. What we see today in Delta is not just continuity but a deliberate effort to elevate the quality of life for the average citizen,” he remarked.

According to him, the state’s infrastructural push—most notably the construction of the flyovers at Enerhen Junction, DSC Roundabout, and PTI Junction in Effurun—signals an era of strategic investment in urban renewal and economic stimulation.

Dr. Arieja also lauded the government’s commitment to educational advancement through the revitalization of technical colleges and the integration of vocational training. He drew a connection between these initiatives and his own advocacy for youth empowerment, stressing that skill development is a cornerstone for sustainable prosperity.

On the healthcare front, Arieja praised the upgrades made to over 150 primary health centres across Delta’s 25 local government areas. He cited these enhancements—along with international endorsements from institutions such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation—as evidence of the administration’s responsiveness to public health needs.

Urging fellow political leaders and community stakeholders to embrace unity in the face of progress, Arieja maintained that governance should be evaluated on impact rather than party lines. “Constructive engagement is the path forward. If the system works for the people, then our role should be to support, advise, and collaborate,” he stated.

As festivities marking the governor’s two-year milestone unfold across the state, Chief Dr. Austin Arieja reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots development and pledged continued collaboration with initiatives that foster inclusive growth.
