A firm supporter of suspended governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers state, Chief Sobomabo Jackrich aka Egberipapa , has raised alarm over alleged plot to frame him up for arrest.

In a statement made available to Vanguard Sobomabo who was the governorship candidate of the National Rescue Movement in the 2023 guber poll said he was aware of alleged high level plot to rope him with false allegations and subsequently ensure his arrest.

Reaffirming his unflinching support for the suspended governor Sobomabo said the move was not targeted at just him alone, adding that the game plan was to ensure that several supporters of Fubara were also arrested over false allegations.

He further enjoined security operatives to be aware of this sinister move and ensure that it was nip in the bud.

His words : ” According to credible intelligence at my disposal, these individuals have finalized plans to deploy both male and female agents loyal to their camp to fabricate and circulate false allegations against me—accusing me of crimes I know absolutely nothing about.

“Their objective is to use these lies as justification to manipulate security agencies into either inviting me under false pretenses or unlawfully invading my residence to arrest, detain, and silence me.

“This desperate move is clearly politically motivated—an attempt to suppress my voice and that of the Simplicity Movement, knowing fully well that we have remained firmly on the side of justice, democracy, and the legitimate leadership of Governor Siminalayi Fubara. They are aware that I cannot be bought, and my allegiance cannot be compromised.

“Let me state that I am not the only one targeted by this political witch-hunt. Other loyal supporters of the governor are on their hit list, but I will speak for myself and I will not stay silent in the face of tyranny and oppression.

“I therefore call on all Security agencies, the Inspector General of Police, DGSS, The of Defense Staff (CDS), Chief of Army, Staff and all there state representatives to be aware of this sinister move and there desperate ploy to frame me up and arrest me by all cost so not to fall cheaply into there antics. The invasion was one of such and up till this moment I and my family haven’t recovered from the trauma.

“My antecedent is open and known to everyone, I am not and will never be found wanting in any act of criminality or illegal activity.

“I wish to make it categorically clear that I am a law-abiding citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I have no affiliation with any criminal gang or involved in any unlawful or criminality act.

“I am a reputable businessman who’s known for contracts execution, security services and other legitimate means of businesses.

“As a Nigerian citizen, I have the inalienable right to support whoever I want. And let me be unequivocal and make it emphatically clear that I stand firm and unshaken in my support for His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS.

“I am not one to be deterred by cheap threat, blackmail, or harassment to stop standing on the side of truth, justice, and the collective will of the people.

“Those plotting against me should know that their mission is dead on arrival.

“I urge all well-meaning supporters of Governor Siminialayi Fubara across Rivers State to remain resolute, law-abiding, and unshaken. Do not allow fear or intimidation to break your spirit. Justice will prevail. Truth will triumph. And in due course, every lie shall be exposed.”

It would be recalled that Sobomabo who is the leader founder and leader of Simplicity Movement recently paid a solidarity visit to the suspended governor Fubara at his private residence.

Recently while declaring emergency rule in Rivers state for six months President Bola Tinubu also suspended Governor Fubara, members of the state House of Assembly and appointed a retired Naval Chief ,Vice Admiral Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, the sole administrator of the state.
