…hails vote of confidence passed on Tinubu/Shettima

The Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC and the Borno State Organising Secretary of the party, Hon. Auwal Hamza has called on Governor Babagana Umara Zulum not to be deterred by the renewed Boko Haram attacks in several communities in the last one month.
Hamza disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Maiduguri, soon after attending APC critical stakeholders meeting which took place at the Government House, Maiduguri on Sunday.
He said, all decisions taken at the meeting were in the best interest of the party both in the state and the country at large, stressing that, the Governor had in different fora revealed that the supremacy of the party is prominent.
He expressed happiness over the outcome of the meeting where resolutions were adopted to include strengthening the party through unity, and the vote of confidence passed on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima to continue their second term come 2027 general elections.
“The APC critical stakeholders meeting we had yesterday in Borno was very important and necessary as we unanimously expressed our total and unalloyed loyalty and support to the Federal Government of Nigeria under the able leadership of His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR. The Meeting also endorsed the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu Administration. The meeting wished Mr President and VP God’s guidance and protection, and a successful tenure.
“We also commend the commitment of the Vice President His Excellency Senator Kashim Shettima GCON to the mandate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and called on Vice President Shettima to remain loyal to his Boss Mr President, and continue to serve diligently to promote the laudable policies of Mr President. We also prayed for Mr President to retrain His Excellency Senator Kashim Shettima as his VP for his second term.

“Again, we unanimously expressed total confidence in the administration of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum CON, mni, FNSE, FNIAE, and charged the Governor not to be distracted in his noble campaign of recovering Borno from the shackles of insurgency, terrorism and criminality”. Said the State APC Organising Secretary.
He lamented that, the renewed attacks which led to dislodgement of military formations in Wulgo, Sabon Gari, Wajiroko, Izge among other locations that also claimed many lives of security agencies and innocent civilians require collective prayers from all and sundry for peace and tranquility.
“It is unfortunate that some remnants of Boko Haram elements have been terrorising our communities in the last one month. Recently, military formations in Wulgo, Wajiroko, Sabon Gari, Izge among others came under attacks which were dislodged, after carting away arms and ammunition. Many lives were lost including security agencies.
“I was shocked when I read a statement credited to the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris who disagreed with position of Governor Zulum during the last week Expanded Security Council Meeting where the Council declared that Borno is witnessing renewed Boko Haram attacks. Although, I was informed that the Minister, through his media aide later debunked the earlier statement”. Hon. Auwal Hamza said.
The APC Chieftain who hailed Governor Zulum for his developmental strides in the last six years, especially in the area of security which led to resettlement of millions of Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs back to their ancestral homes, provision of basic social amenities such as portable drinking water, electricity, health care services, roads and drainage construction is second to none in the history of Borno state.
He noted that, in Biu local government alone where he hails from, Governor Zulum has constructed and equipped Eye and Dental Hospitals, Skills Acquisition Centre, Mega schools, roads and drainages which connect College of Education in Waka and Biu town among other projects and empowerments worth billions of naira.
While calling on the people of the state to remain resilient, he urges all and sundry to continue to pray for God (Allah) to restore peace not only in Borno, North East, but the country as a whole, as the APC under the leadership of Governor Zulum is poised to put smile on the faces of the citizenry irrespective of political or ethnic considerations.
Hon. Hamza then use the opportunity to call on all APC faithfuls, and the people of the state continue give their maximum support and cooperation to governor Zulum led -administration to continue the good works he has started in the last six years. End
