Cormart Nigeria Limited, a leading provider of chemical and food raw materials solutions and a member of TGI Group, is set to commission its state-of-the-art cold storage facility designed to tackle food wastage, preserve perishable goods, and enhance pharmaceutical storage across Nigeria.
With Nigeria experiencing significant post-harvest losses due to inadequate storage solutions, this facility provides a 3,000MT total storage capacity for frozen and temperature-sensitive products. Built using sandwich panel technology with Polyurethane Foam (PU) insulation, it ensures optimal cooling efficiency and extended shelf life for agricultural produce, dairy products, processed foods, pharmaceuticals, and vaccines.
Martin Middernacht, Managing Director of Cormart and Chi Farms Nigeria Limited, emphasized the company’s commitment to bridging the gap in Nigeria’s cold chain storage infrastructure.
“This facility is a game-changer for Nigeria’s food and pharmaceutical industries. Beyond just storage, it provides a lifeline for farmers, food processors and businesses, ensuring that produce reaches markets in peak condition, reducing waste, and ultimately improving incomes. By strengthening cold chain infrastructure, we are not only supporting urban markets but also enabling rural communities to participate more effectively in the value chain. Middernacht stated.
As part of TGI Group’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and value chain enhancement, Cormart’s latest innovation strengthens Nigeria’s evolving cold chain industry, ensuring businesses have reliable, energy-efficient, and cost-effective storage solutions.
