Ambassador Frankie Ehimuan Aire a prominent Nigerian humanitarian and entertainment entrepreneur based in South Africa, has praised Edo State Governor, His Excellency Monday Okpebholo, as a leader of integrity, discipline, and vision and called on the Governor to take decisive steps toward promoting and developing the local music industry.
In a passionate plea, Ambassador Frankie emphasized that Edo, known for its rich cultural heritage, has immense untapped potential in the music sector that could significantly contribute to both the state’s economy and its global cultural influence.
Also, Ambassador Frankie expressed strong support for the Governor following his recent victory at the election tribunal, describing him as “the kind of leader Edo State has been waiting for.”
Speaking further, he highlighted that Edo’s music industry is struggling due to limited government support, lack of infrastructure, and a lack of investment in local talent.
He, therefore, urged the governor to prioritize the creation of a conducive environment for musicians and other stakeholders in the entertainment industry, and this could be achieved by merging Entertainment companies, musicians, singers, Comedians, Poets, filmmakers, and Book writers with Edo State Tourism art, Culture, and diaspora affairs, to enable them to receive financial assistance in their projects, by doing so, Edo creativity and talents won’t be left alone.
“Today’s music entertainers need two to tango, giving them good platforms, thanks to the likes of blessed memory of legendary Sir Victor Uwaifo, blessed memory of legendary Fela Kuti, who popularized the Afrobeat music genre before the likes of 2 Face Idibia, Burna Boy, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Rhema, Shally Popi and millions of other recording artistes, who finally modernized the music genre”.
“Today, they are all enjoying their music royalties as they keep paving the way for Edo artists to embrace the music business in grand style”
Finally, Ambassador Frankie who is also the founder of the Governor Monday Okpebholo Team in South Africa, described the Governor as a tirelessly working machine, set to find solutions to insecurity and further development of Edo State.
“We grew up together in Udomi, Irrua,” he added. “He was a honest young man, never involved in even the smallest mischief, like stealing from his mother’s pot. That discipline continues to define his leadership today.”
He described the Governor as a tireless worker, a deep thinker, and someone who is not swayed by money or political influence. According to him, Governor Okpebholo’s leadership style is built on quiet resilience and results-oriented action.
“He is the solution to insecurity and the key to Edo State’s development,” I urge all Edo people to set aside political affiliations and support him. We may never see a governor like him again,” he said.
The ambassador highlighted the Governor’s track record of humanitarian service even before holding public office and said his ongoing reforms would soon speak for themselves.
“Go and check his records. He’s always been a man of the people. If you value good governance, you’ll appreciate the work he’s doing now and what is yet to come.” He concluded.
