World Consumer Rights Day: QNET champion ethical practices 

…Joins Lagos, others to campaign for consumer protection, sustainability

As the world commemorates World Consumer Rights Day 2025, QNET, a wellness and lifestyle company, has reaffirmed its commitment to consumer protection, education, and sustainability.

The company joined the Lagos State Government and other stakeholders at an event organized by the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency, LASCOPA, to discuss the year’s theme: “A Just Transition to a Sustainable Lifestyle.”

Speaking at the event, Head of Compliance for QNET Global, Theodocia Naana Quartey, emphasized the company’s dedication to consumer education, product authenticity, and ethical business practices.

Quartey said: “At QNET, the well-being of our consumers is our top priority. We actively partner with organizations like LASCOPA to educate consumers, prevent fraud, and ensure that only authentic QNET products reach the market.

“QNET strongly believes that education is key to consumer protection. This was why it launched several awareness campaigns to help consumers identify genuine QNET products and avoid scams.

“Instead of focusing on counterfeits, we expose consumers to the original. When people recognize the real QNET, they can easily identify and reject fakes,” Quartey explained.

Speaking on the company’s recent campaigns, she said: “Say No Campaign is a a multi-channel campaign across radio, TV, print, billboards, and social media that warns consumers against job scams and fake travel opportunities falsely linked to QNET.

“QNET Against Scams Campaign  was launched in Ghana, Senegal, and Burkina Faso, using radio, billboards, TV ads, and digital platforms to educate the public on QNET’s authentic business model,” Quartey stated.

Speaking on the theme, she said: “QNET aligns with the 2025 theme of World Consumer Rights Day by offering products that promote health, wellness, and environmental sustainability.

“Sustainability is at the heart of what we do. Even my watch is made from recycled materials. That is who we are,” Quartey emphasized.

She added: “We want to collaborate with Nigerian manufacturers to create products that not only benefit consumers but also strengthen the local economy,” Quartey stated.

Also speaking at the event, Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu

reiterated its dedication to consumer protection and sustainability, recognizing the vital role of informed consumers in shaping a thriving economy.

The governor who was represented at the event by the Secretary to The Lagos State Government, Barr. Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, emphasized that consumer rights directly impact health, the environment, and overall quality of life.

He said: “The phrase ‘consumer is king’ has never been more relevant. We are committed to ensuring that consumers are treated with the dignity they deserve,” the Governor stated.

He also commended the General Manager/CEO of LASCOPA, Afolabi Solebo, and his team for their unwavering dedication to protecting consumer rights and promoting fair business practices.

QNET and the Lagos State Government reaffirm their commitment to consumer protection, ethical business practices stating that through education, innovation, and collaboration, they aim to create a safer, fairer, and more sustainable marketplace for all Nigerians.
