The Northeast National Vice Chairman of the ruling All Progressive Congress, (APC) Comrade Mustapha Salihu, has distributed tons of essential food items to thousands of residents in Adamawa State.
The distribution which took place at his Dougirei residence in Yola, according to a statement, featured large quantities of rice, sugar, spaghetti, indomie, and milk, among other staple items, worth millions of Naira.
According to Salihu ,the initiative was aimed at easing economic hardship during the holy month of Ramadan, benefiting APC executives, youth groups, traditional rulers, religious bodies, the aged, and the less privileged.
Among the items distributed were hundreds of bags of sugar in different sizes, including 50kg, 25kg, 10kg, and 2kg. These were allocated to Juma’at mosques, APC local government and ward structures, key stakeholders, and vulnerable groups to support their fasting and daily needs.
Large quantities of rice, packaged in 50kg, 25kg, and 10kg bags, were shared across various beneficiaries, including religious institutions, party members, community meeting points, and the less privileged.
The food aid was targeted at reducing the burden of high food prices during the fasting period.
To further support the people, hundreds of cartons of spaghetti and indomie were distributed. These essential food items were given to Jumat mosques, party structures, and stakeholders. Additionally, financial support was provided to over 220 individuals to ease transportation and other immediate needs.
Represented at the occasion, Salihu reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the people. “I am delighted to contribute to the well-being of our people, and I will continue to stand by them,” he said.
This marked the third consecutive Ramadan in which Salihu provided such relief to his constituents, further demonstrating his dedication to their welfare. Beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude and offered prayers for the donor, acknowledging his consistent efforts in community development.
