Queens Palm Support Initiative empowers young women with leadership, life skills

Ms. Sabrina Ozma, the founder of the Queens Palm Support Initiative (QPSI), has emphasised her commitment to equipping young women in Nigeria with the skills they need to lead and succeed.

Ozma, who shared the inspiration behind her initiative, the challenges she faces, and her vision for the future in an interview, said QPSI was born from a moment of divine inspiration.

Founded on November 4, 2023, QPSI has been helping young girls to develop what Ozma called “power skills” — a blend of leadership, confidence, etiquette, and self-reliance.

“It came from a place of prayer. I was asking God what to do next because I kept finding young people in places they weren’t meant to be. I had to groom myself, and I realized so many girls need this too.

“That’s why Queens Palm was born — to empower young women to become self-reliant leaders who don’t wait for permission to shine,” she disclosed.

Noticing a gap in education — where essential life skills like poise, etiquette, and leadership are often ignored — Ozma saw an opportunity to fill this need.

Having attended finishing schools and earned a certificate in etiquette, Ozma wanted to share these lessons with young women.

For Ozma, equipping young girls with leadership skills is more than personal growth — it’s about shaping the future of Nigeria.

“Empower a woman, and you empower a nation. No longer do we want to be sidelined. God has ordained us to be so much more.

“We’re open to partnerships, and I look forward to the day the government hears my voice and supports this vision,” she asserted.

She said her dream is to see a Nigeria where women are not just participants but leaders, with the hope that the country will someday produce a female president.

Currently self-funded, QPSI operates with the help of dedicated volunteers as the initiative grows through grassroots efforts and a strong online presence.

This vision is reflected in QPSI’s core motto: “Reset, revive, and renew”, a call to inspire transformation, confidence, and faith.

Ozma’s journey — from studying law and political science to a career in media — has taught her that passion is key to success.

“I thought I’d thrive in law, but I found my voice elsewhere. When you pursue what you love, you’ll excel and become who you’re meant to be,” she said.

As the convener of QPSI and a communications skills expert at Cydia Pro Academy, Ozma is determined to expand the initiative through workshops, mentorship programs, and skill-building seminars.

Her message to young women is clear: The tools to lead are within reach — it’s time to seize them.
