Ogheye-Eghoroke community inaugurates new leadership structure 

 The Ogheye-Eghoroke Community, an oil and gas-rich enclave in Warri North Local Government Area has inaugurated its full governance structures after over a decade of absence. 

The event, held at Chief Eyewuoma Hall in Warri, was marked by jubilation among the community’s sons and daughters, signaling a hopeful turning point for the future.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by notable figures, including Chief Brown Mene, the Board of Trustees Chairman of Ogheye-Eghoroke; the Olare-Aja, Pa. Afotanju Menite; Chief Mrs. Omatseye; Prince Emmanuel Okotie-Eboh, the immediate past Regent of Warri Kingdom; and the Olori-Ebi of Ogbaranmi, among others. This diverse gathering highlighted the community’s unity and commitment to collective governance.

During the ceremony, the oath of office was administered to all elected members, marking the official commencement of their roles within the newly established governance framework. Additionally, the Olare-Aja, Pa. Afotanju Menite, presented a copy of the community’s Constitution to each elected member, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the rule of law and community values.

A highlight of the event was the introduction of the newly formed Management Committee, led by Chairman Adanas Christian, Woman Leader Mrs. Caroline Eyewuoma, and Youth President Mr. Ada. Their leadership was formally recognized by His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III CFR, who welcomed them warmly and bestowed his royal blessings upon the newly inaugurated officials. In his address, the monarch urged the leaders to serve the community with dignity and inclusivity, ensuring that every voice is heard and valued.

In his remarks, Chairman Adanas Christian expressed heartfelt gratitude to His Royal Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III CFR for his instrumental role in facilitating the establishment of the executive council after so many years. He assured the community of his commitment to unity and promised not to disappoint the Ogheye-Eghoroke Community. “We are dedicated to fostering an environment where every member feels valued and included,” Christian stated. “Together, we will work diligently to ensure the progress and development of our beloved community.”

“This inauguration is not just a ceremony; it is a commitment to the progress and development of Ogheye-Eghoroke,” said Chief Brown Mene. “We are dedicated to fostering unity, transparency, and accountability in our governance, ensuring that our rich resources benefit all members of our community.”

The Ogheye-Eghoroke Community looks forward to a future filled with promise, as it embarks on this new chapter of governance that prioritizes the needs and aspirations of its people.
