A not-for- profit organization, Boys Quarters Africa, in partnership with WEMA Bank, is set to host over 20,000 Boys across 12 Centres for Landmark Summit on May 16, 2025 across 12 strategic centres in Africa.
With an expected attendance of 20,000 boys, the summit, themed “Redefining Masculinity – Boys to Wholesome Men,” aims to foster positive masculinity, leadership, and holistic development among young males.
The summit is supported by WEMA Bank, a forward-thinking financial institution committed to youth empowerment and innovation. The partnership underpins a shared vision for shaping the next generation of responsible, emotionally intelligent, and purpose-driven African men.
Founder & Executive Director of Boys Quarters Africa, Solomon O. Ayodele, emphasized the urgency of redefining masculinity in contemporary society: “The International BoyChild Summit is more than an event—it’s a movement. We are challenging toxic stereotypes and equipping boys with the mindset, skills, and values needed to become wholesome men.
This year’s edition is our most ambitious yet, with a pan-African reach and strategic partnerships with government agencies, educational institutions, and private sector leaders. Our goal is to ignite a continental shift—where boys grow into men who lead with integrity, empathy, and accountability. This year, we are hosting speakers like Kola Oyeneyin, Olushola Olaleye, amongst others”
Also, Partnership and Programmes Manager at Boys Quarters Africa, Sophie Sadiq, highlighted the pivotal role of WEMA Bank in making the summit a reality: “We are thrilled to have WEMA Bank as a key partner in this transformational initiative. Their commitment to youth development aligns perfectly with our mission. Through their ALAT Explore product—a digital banking solution designed for teenagers—they are not just supporting the summit but also providing financial literacy tools that will empower these boys for life. This partnership is a testament to WEMA Bank’s dedication to building a brighter future for Africa’s youth.”
Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Ruby Onwudiwe, reflected on the organization’s journey and the summit’s significance: “From our humble beginnings to now hosting Africa’s largest gathering for boys, Boys Quarters Africa has remained steadfast in its mission. This summit represents years of advocacy, grassroots engagement, and strategic collaborations. Seeing 20,000 boys across 12 African centres united under one vision is a milestone that reaffirms our belief: when we invest in boys today, we secure a better tomorrow for all.”
The International BoyChild Summit 2025 is open to boys aged 12–21, educators, parents, and stakeholders in youth development across Africa.
