Digitalisation: We can’t continue to be left out – Jibunoh

Founder, Fight Against Desert Encroachment, FADE Africaand Chairman, Nelson Mandela Gardens, Dr. Newton Jibunoh, has urged young Nigerians to embrace artificial intelligence and other forms of digital technologies, saying that “we cannot continue to be left out’.

Dr. Jibunoh, popularly known as Desert Warrior, stated this during a training ‘From Campus To Tech Career – AI Powered Digital Marketing’ held at Denise Osadebe University, Asaba, Delta State.

The training tagged: ‘My Fourth Expenditure Back To Campus’, was sponsored by Dr. Jibunoh and held in collaboration with WEBBIIT Technologies.

The event featured training on different areas of artificial intelligence such as data analysis, career part in artificial intelligence, local drop shipping and others.

Speaking during the training, Jibunoh stressed the need to bring along the younger generation through digital empowerment.

He said: “I am deviating a little bit from Desert Warrior programme and coming to the digital way because that is the best way to impart on the younger ones.

“We have come from the era of computers and calculators the the era of GPS and the rest of it and now, we are looking at artificial intelligence.

“A place like this is a platform for people to begin to see the innovations and different kinds of developments that are coming because, we cannot continue to be left out.

“Sometimes, we think we will catch up but at the time you are catching up, another technology is coming up, so the earlier we are compliant with the whole game of artificial intelligence, the better for the country.”

Also speaking, the Chief Executive Officer, WEBBIIT Technologies, Mr. Ajayi Adebayo said: “We are here because we have a man called Desert Warrior. This man drove from London to Nigeria and from Nigeria to London through the desert. We see him as an inspiration.

“We as a company, WEBBIIT Technologies.are into digital training. We go to campuses to teach students on how to be great leaders and inspire the next generation.

“We collaborated to train Nigeria students on how to become who they want to be as tech persons. The message to the students is that no matter where you are, you can be great with technology and with information.”
