The Vice-Chancellor, Crawford University, Faith City, Igbesa, Ogun state, Prof. Reuben Kolo, delivered a heartfelt message to newly admitted students, emphasising the importance of their education and moral integrity. He urged the students to honour their parents’ sacrifices by committing to their studies and spiritual growth.

“Remember that your parents give so much to ensure you are educated,” Kolo stated. “You have the power to make them proud through your hard work and dedication to your academic journey.”

In his address to students from various faculties, including the College of Business and Social Sciences, College of Natural and Applied Sciences, and Postgraduate School, Kolo highlighted the university’s mission to cultivate solution providers who can tackle societal challenges.

“Being enrolled in this institution is not just about obtaining a degree; it is about preparing yourselves to address the problems faced by our society,” he said. “Your skills and aptitudes will be needed, and I hope this experience leads you to a fulfilling life.”

The Vice-Chancellor also took a moment to express gratitude to parents for choosing Crawford University. “It is indeed an honour for us at Crawford University to be preferred to other universities for your wards,” he noted. “We believe you have made the right decision, and we are committed to ensuring your children receive quality education built on the foundation of knowledge and Godliness.”

Kolo reassured students that Crawford University has a track record of graduating its students on time, free from industrial actions that might hinder their academic progress. “We pride ourselves on having no strikes or downtime in our operations, which speaks to our commitment to your education,” he remarked.

As part of his message, Kolo reminded students of the spiritual dimensions of their education at a faith-based institution. “You are expected to uphold high moral standards inside and outside the university. Your time here should reflect the values of prayerfulness and good character,” he urged.

He further reiterated the importance of maintaining good associations and a strong moral compass. “Avoid all kinds of evil communication and associations, and focus on making a positive impact in your community,” Kolo advised.
In closing, Kolo encouraged the new students to embrace their academic responsibilities and strive for excellence. “As you begin this journey, I implore you to resolve to be someone your parents and the university community can be proud of,” he concluded.
