This December marked the beginning of an unforgettable three-day cultural and musical extravaganza as MC Charlene hosted the highly anticipated Waka Waka Festival at Stade Sambava, Madagascar.

With a perfect blend of vibrant traditions and contemporary artistry, the event left a lasting impression on all who attended, showcasing the power of music and dance to unite people across cultures.

The festival was organized by Shelby Bookings. The first day featured a “Carnival,” the second day was dedicated to the Miss “Waka Waka Pageant Competition,” and the third day culminated in a “Concert.”

MC Charlene received a grand welcome. A renowned international host from Norway and an advocate for cultural appreciation, she was warmly greeted in Sambava with a traditional dance performance. Local dancers, adorned in colourful attire, expressed the richness of Madagascar’s heritage through their intricate movements and rhythms, setting the tone for a celebration of cultural diversity.

International Collaboration and Stellar Performances

The festival featured an impressive lineup of performers, including both local talents and international artists. Among the international acts was Ghanaian dancer Demzy Baye, whose electrifying performance captivated the audience. Known for his innovative style and passion for African dance, Demzy Baye brought a fresh and energetic vibe to the event, creating a unique cultural fusion.

Local artists, including Ngiah Tax, KissiLa Kay, and RIjade, took center stage, delivering dynamic performances that highlighted Madagascar’s flourishing music scene. Their artistry, rooted in tradition yet infused with modern influences, resonated deeply with the crowd, showcasing the incredible talent and creativity of Madagascar’s artists.

A Headliner to Remember: Rudeboy (Formerly P-Square)

The festival reached its crescendo with Rudeboy, the Nigerian music sensation and former member of the iconic duo P-Square, as the headliner. His charismatic presence and hit-packed performance brought the audience to their feet. Songs like “Reason With Me” and “Audio Money” had the crowd singing along, reinforcing the universal appeal of his music. Rudeboy’s performance demonstrated how music transcends borders, uniting people in shared joy and celebration.

MC Charlene, as the host of the festival, showcased her amazing hosting skills, making it clear that the audience was having a great time.
