Romson Oil Field Services, a member of TGI Group, has officially commissioned its state-of-the-art Chemical Blending Plant at Cormart factory, Ogun State. 

The facility is set to revolutionise the local production of oil and gas chemicals, biocides, and other industrial solutions, strengthening Nigeria’s self-reliance in critical sectors.

Dr Remi Oni, Group Executive Director, TGI Group, who delivered the keynote speech, emphasized the importance of this investment in Nigeria’s industrial landscape.

“This facility showcases a significant step in reducing our dependence on imported chemical products. By blending these chemicals locally, we enhance supply chain efficiency, create jobs, and foster technology transfer. More importantly, this project aligns with our commitment to sustainability, safety, and quality standards,”  Oni said.

On his part, Devadasan Karayi, Managing Director, Romson Oil Field Services, in his speech further emphasized the company’s sustainability efforts, saying: “Sustainability is at the heart of our operations. We are focused on reducing costs, improving efficiency, and minimizing environmental impact. Our goal is to create a business model that not only benefits our company but also contributes to the broader economy.”

He also mentioned the company’s commitment to off-stream technology sources and financial innovation, ensuring ROMSON remains competitive in the global market.

Also speaking, Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Felix Ogbe, represented by Abdulmalik Halilu, Director of Monitoring and Evaluation, commended Romson Oil Field Services for its strategic expansion. 

“The establishment of this plant supports our vision of increasing local capacity in the oil and gas sector. The quality management systems ensure that products meet international standards, positioning Nigeria as a key player in chemical production,” he remarked.

He further praised the company’s commitment to innovation and research, stating, “By integrating research into your business model, you are reinforcing sustainability as a core principle. We expect to see more local chemical manufacturing that meets global standards, reducing import dependency and boosting industrial growth.”

In his closing remarks, Jorome Shogbon, Group Executive Director, TGI Group, commended all stakeholders for their unwavering support and reaffirmed ROMSON’s commitment to compliance, sustainability, and innovation. 

He said: “This project is more than just an investment in infrastructure; it is an investment in people, in local content, and in the future of Nigeria’s industrial sector.
