JALINGO — Residents of Jimlari Community in Lau Local Government Area, Taraba State, are grieving the death of one person and the abduction of eight others after an attack by armed men early Sunday morning.

Reports indicate that the assailants fired sporadically to create panic and confusion among villagers, with children reportedly among those kidnapped.

The Taraba State Police Command has confirmed the incident, and according to the command’s spokesman, Abdullahi Usman, security operatives are actively pursuing the attackers in an effort to rescue the victims and restore peace to the area.
