As the world celebrates International Day of Education, Henkel Nigeria, a German multinational known for brands like WAW and Nittol, conducted science experiment sessions for pupils from Saint Michael Primary School and IMG Primary School, both located in Apata, Ibadan.
The sessions were held under its Forscherwelt (Researchers’ World) Initiative.
Facilitated by Yinka Atoba from the Girls and Women Empowerment and Technological Organization, GWETO, the sessions provided pupils with practical activities, engaging discussions, and interactive learning, encouraging curiosity. The staff and students expressed excitement and gratitude for Henkel’s initiative.
Speaking on the initiative, Managing Director of Henkel Nigeria, Rajat Kapur, emphasized the company’s commitment to fostering education and sustainable development in Nigeria.
Kapur said, “We are thrilled to play a prominent role in shaping the educational experiences of young students in our community. It is a platform to showcase our commitment to education, fostering a generation that values learning and innovation. By collaborating with organizations like GWETO, we strive to inspire these children and ignite their passion for science.”
Also, Executive Director of GWETO, Damilola Asaleye, said, “Initiatives like Forscherwelt help transform the educational landscape in our society. We believe that empowering young minds, especially girls and women, is essential for creating a more equitable society. Collaborating with Henkel is a significant step toward achieving this goal.”
