One person has been killed, and four others abducted from the Shendai community in Namu District, Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State. The attack occurred on Saturday night, although both the spokespersons for Operation Safe Haven (OpSH) and the State Police Command claim ignorance of the incident.
The Chairman of Qua’an Pan Local Government Area, Christopher Manship, visited the community to sympathize with the families of the victims. He was accompanied by the Commanding Officer of Shendam barracks, Lt. Col. Ogunrinde Soji, the DPO of Namu Divisional Headquarters, Mudu, and members of the Nigeria Hunters.
In a statement from his SSA on Media and Publicity, Danaan Sylvanus, Manship condemned the attack, calling for increased security patrols and efforts to secure the safe release of the abducted victims. He also expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and pledged to collaborate with security agencies to resolve the situation.
Manship’s visit was part of a fact-finding mission to understand the incident and its aftermath.
