…Say Otuaro not under EFCC investigation

A group of Niger Delta youths has strongly rejected allegations of corruption and nepotism leveled against the Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Otuaro.

Led by Honorable Dennis Philip, a 1st Phase General of the Amnesty Programme, the youths described the accusations as a calculated attempt by self-serving individuals to disrupt the remarkable progress being achieved under Otuaro’s leadership.

“These unfounded allegations, published in some national dailies, are a desperate effort to tarnish Chief Otuaro’s reputation and undermine his achievements in the amnesty program,” Philip stated.

He added that the perpetrators fail to acknowledge the groundbreaking successes of the PAP under Otuaro’s administration.

Supporting this stance, Tarry Foray Fayeofori, a prominent youth leader in Rivers State, dismissed the allegations as a futile attempt to derail the progress made under Otuaro’s leadership.

“Chief Otuaro has never been involved in nepotism, favoritism, or financial mismanagement. Furthermore, the claim that he is under investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is an outright lie,” Fayeofori asserted.

In a statement issued on Sunday in Port Harcourt, he emphasized that as a beneficiary of the PAP himself, Otuaro’s appointment is a divine intervention, aimed at restructuring and reinvigorating the initiative for the greater good of the Niger Delta region.

Fayeofori highlighted the significant strides made under Otuaro’s leadership, including:

Skill acquisition programs for ex-agitators

 Educational scholarships to empower the youth

Entrepreneurial support to boost economic growth

“His policies have not only stabilized the region but have also laid a solid foundation for sustainable development, reducing restiveness and creating viable opportunities for the youth,” he added.

Fayeofori condemned “faceless individuals” sponsoring coordinated smear campaigns in Abuja against Otuaro.

“It is regrettable that people driven by selfish political and economic interests are attempting to malign a man whose only crime is his unwavering commitment to the Niger Delta cause,” he noted.

The youth leaders stressed that the Niger Delta cannot afford to be swayed by deceitful narratives spread by individuals prioritizing personal enrichment over collective development.

“We must reject these orchestrated attacks and recognize them for what they are—deliberate distractions aimed at halting the remarkable progress and transformative policies implemented under Chief Otuaro’s administration.”

They urged the public to disregard misleading reports and instead continue to support the transformational leadership of Chief Otuaro.

“Rather than resorting to deceit and character assassination, individuals and groups with genuine concerns should engage through proper channels for clarification. The Niger Delta region needs unity, constructive dialogue, and responsible leadership,” they said.

Reaffirming their unwavering support for Otuaro, the youth leaders pledged to stand by him and the Presidential Amnesty Programme in their mission to drive sustainable development in the Niger Delta.
