Nigerians on social media are grieving the tragic death of a 24-year-old woman, Salome Eleojo Adaidu, who was allegedly beheaded in Nasarawa State. The suspect, identified as Timileyin Ajayi, a gospel singer, was reportedly caught with the victim’s severed head near a church on Sunday. Witnesses say he was carrying the head in a bag, drawing suspicion that led to his arrest by the police. Further investigations allegedly uncovered other dismembered parts of Salome’s body in the suspect’s home.
Salome, a graduate of Library and Information Science from Kogi State University, was nearing the completion of her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program, with her passing-out ceremony scheduled for March 2025. Her death has left her family and friends in deep shock.
Abigail Simon, a close friend of Salome, described the horrifying events leading up to her death. According to Simon, Salome was last seen on Saturday evening at her residence in Nyanya, Abuja. On Sunday evening, the family received a distressing call claiming that Salome had been in a critical accident. Salome’s elder sister rushed to the scene, only to discover the grim reality.
Simon revealed that the family had no knowledge of any romantic relationship between Salome and the suspect, casting doubt on reports linking them. The victim’s family is devastated, especially as they are still mourning the loss of Salome’s father, who passed away in May 2024.
Salome’s mother is said to be struggling emotionally with the compounded grief of losing her daughter in such a horrific manner. The family, supported by friends, is now calling for justice and urging Nigerians to help uncover the truth surrounding her death.
Simon expressed the overwhelming sorrow and frustration felt by those close to Salome, insisting that justice must be served to honor her memory.
